Chapter 2. INSTALLATION
This chapter provides unpacking and installation instructions, and a description of
external connections.
CAUTION
The equipment contains parts and assemblies sensitive to damage by
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). Use ESD precautionary procedures when
touching, removing, or inserting PCBs.
2.1 Unpacking
The demodulator and manual are packaged in pre-formed, reusable, cardboard cartons
containing foam inserts for maximum shipping protection.
CAUTION
Do not use any cutting tool that will extend more than 1 inch (2.54 cm) into
the container. This can cause damage to the demodulator.
To remove the demodulator:
1. Cut the tape at the top of the carton, which is labeled “OPEN THIS END”.
2. Remove the cardboard/foam inserts covering the demodulator.
3. Remove the demodulator, manual, and power cord from the carton.
4. Save the packing material for storage or reshipment purposes.
5. Inspect the equipment for any possible damage incurred during shipment.
6. Check the equipment against the packing list to ensure the shipment is correct.
7. Refer to Section 2.2 for installation instructions.
