REMOTE PRODUCT
MANAGEMENT
7.1 Introduction
Ethernet-based Remote Product Management of the CDD-56xA/L Multi-Channel Demodulator is
available using the rear panel RJ-45 10/100 BaseT Ethernet Traffic/M&C port.
The M&C port is available only when Dedicated Management Port operation is enabled.
7.2 Ethernet Management Interface Protocols
A user-supplied PC is required for Ethernet-based remote monitor and control (M&C) of the
CDD-56xA/L. Three separately-operated protocols are available:
• Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
• Telnet Interface
• HTTP Web Server Interface
7.2.1 Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
SNMP requires these user-supplied items:
• Network Management System (NMS)
• Management Information Base (MIB) File Browser
7.2.2 Telnet Interface
Telnet requires these user-supplied items:
• User PC
• Command-Line Interface (CLI)
• Terminal emulation program installed on the user PC
7.2.3 HTTP Web Server Interface
The Web Server Interface requires these user-supplied items:
